PART II:

A major twist in our lives happened during Papa’s retirement. We were supposed to visit Bangalore for a month to relish his retirement and visit places in and around Bangalore. It was March 30th(don't remember the exact year) when brother started to feel nauseated and next day we took him to a doctor .Doctor mentioned that it was appendicitis and he needs to get treated immediately(It was not actually appendicitis since he had 10 stitches on his lower abdomen) .So we had to cancel our Bangalore trip and Papa took official retirement on a sad note. He rushed to the hospital directly from railway station. After a month everything was back to normal and started spending quality time with Papa, but the destiny didn't favor mom. She was working in a different location which was 3-4 hours away from Hyderabad which is why she used be home every 3 days. This phase of life as a child was very arduous for me and brother. So I assume was in 7th grade when I started learning cooking .Cooking became a rudimentary prerequisite for me since Papa made us survive with bread omelet for breakfast and curd rice for lunch .We kind of explored Papa’s cooking skill this way but I must agree somehow he managed to cook special everyday  .Slowly we started to seem uninterested with the similar menu and we had an ongoing craving for varieties of food. Eating outside occasionally in order to circumvent was good for some time, So mom urged me  to learn cooking since we didn't have an alternative .The willingness to learn new skills was very high and intriguing right from childhood embedded in me. Mom finally got transferred to Hyderabad after 2 years of suffering from the travel.

For a young kid, the decision to join defense will be the most important choice of his or her life. Such a decision can be difficult to make without family support. Now comes next stage in our lives as brother was captivated to join forces. His journey kicked off in 6th grade by joining Sainik School Korukonda with the approval of proud parents. Right after joining Sainik school he witnessed a major life-threatening health issue so we had to flew him from Vizag to Hyderabad under emergency health condition. He was operated for 7 hours since his large intestines got stuck together and doctors suggested that he shouldn't take the risk of physical activity in future. Mom  insisted papa  to withdraw the decision of joining from Sainik school but brother's fortitude, resilience  to serve the nation was very high that none could deter it . Papa’s conviction in brother was accurate from the moment he joined Sainik school and it turned out to be a huge investment of confidence which lead to accomplishment of becoming a commissioned officer.

I remember papa saying joining army is an opportunity to be part of something greater than a nine to five job. Army soldiers, families have strength of body and character. They carry out orders with pride, and they are equipped to lead in any situation that requires a firm hand and a strong voice. No matter what life throws at you Integrity is telling yourself self the truth and honesty is telling the truth to other people. We are by birth imbibed with this quality of honesty and it’s a very expensive gift and I don’t expect it from cheap people.
3 Musketeers
It’s been almost 12 years I didn’t tie a Rakhi to him in person for Raksha Bandhan, sometimes it does make me cry for a moment but remembering that he’s serving a greater purpose I console myself

Indeed, there was a point where I got too much involved with social issues around me that I wanted to join defense forces. But my parents wanted me to have global exposure. The goal was to immerse myself, and go beyond mere exposure to cultures, ideas, and experiences, and attempt a deep understanding of them. This has helped me become a better, more well-rounded person to face laborious situations at any time.
